Mao is not one of the straight As student when he was in highschool. In fact he was not a very good student. His mother was called a dozen times in school because of his BAD attitude. He does not have any ambition after graduation until he found his love for singing and joining bands. Obviously, his parents and teachers disagreed with his idea but instead he used this as a motivation to prove it to them that he can achieve his goal.
So he packed his bag, bought a one way plane ticket to Tokyo (refer to ONE WAY single) and pursued his dream in the city. Well, he did not have any money at first so he survived by eating expired bento boxes from convenience stores. He thrived, persevered, as in he really worked hard. Then, eight years later, SID was formed.
